The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has detailed new DNA analysis techniques used to identify the remains of people missing since the September 11 terror attacks in 2001. The missing persons unit says the office continues to identify remains from ground zero, with the new identifications allowing remains to be returned to family members. One new victim has been identified in each of the last five years thanks to technological advancements pioneered by the office.
