The woes plaguing the Central African Republic “must not be exploited to gain a foothold on the continent and pursue concealed ambitions,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian tells FRANCE 24 in a thinly veiled attack on growing Russian involvement in the impoverished and restive African nation. In a wide-ranging interview from CAR’s capital Bangui, Le Drian also touches on the recent elections in Cameroon and the terror threat facing Burkina Faso.
