Australians are being urged to get their hearing tested during Hearing Awareness Week, with medical experts warning instances of hearing loss are on the rise. Currently in Australia one in six are deaf, hearing impaired or have a chronic ear disorder. Associate Professor Catherine Birman, from the The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, told Sky News early intervention will make a huge difference for children with a hearing impairment.
