Supplied video obtained Thursday, April 11, 2019 of Justice Michael Wigney ruling Geoffrey Rush had been defamed by Nationwide News and Jonathon Moran. Rush launched legal action in 2017 saying the Daily Telegraph falsely made him out to be a pervert and sexual predator. Justice Wigney rules Rush is entitled to "aggravated damages" of $850,000. A further hearing will be held on May 10 to consider special damages for his economic loss. “This was in all the circumstances a recklessly irresponsible piece of sensationalist journalism of the worst kind, the very worst kind," the judge says.
