Thailand has commemorated the Buddhist New Year by participating in one of the world’s largest water fights. Thousands of people have taken part in the Songkran festival, held between the 13th and 15th of April. Traditionally, people visit family members and pour water over Buddha statues to wash away bad luck from the previous year, but it has also become a tourist attraction with thousands taking part in celebrations.
