[ Military ] Open Question : What do prison guards do to you if you punch them in the face?

My brothers friend did 3 years before and he told me he once punched one of the guards. The guard hit him on the side of the head and kicked him in the stomach. and restrained him down on the ground. He told me the guard was shouting at him calling him a fing maggot as he was restraining him. The guard kicked him hard enough it took the breath out of him. He told me the guards specific words were I'm not ur fing daddy, I will have no mercy on idiotic ****** like you. I'll give you so much pain by the time u get out, an elbow bash to the wall wont even hurt you. After telling me all that makes it sound like they treat inmates like how they treat you in military training. Are guards really that harsh with you or was my brothers friend just exaggerating to motivate me to never go in those places? He made his guard sound like he was talking to R Lee Ermy. Can they actually Beat you like that for hitting them?
