Texan billionaire Ross Perot has died at the age of 89, at his home in Dallas. Mr Perot rose from poverty to become one of America's richest men, running for the US presidency twice. In 1992, Mr Perot ran for US president as an independent candidate against George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. He was blamed by the Republicans for Mr Bush's defeat with one of the best showings for an independent candidate.
