A family is warning of the dangers of caffeinated supplements after their son unknowingly overdosed on the substance. Lachlan Foote, 21, added a teaspoon of caffeine powder to a protein shake before being found dead in his home. The spoon-full unknowingly contained caffeine equivalent to 50 cups of coffee.
