For instance say I have an account of $25k. If I have $25k in Amazon stock, sell it and buy $25k of Apple stock the same day (before the funds from the Amazon stock have settled) do I pay interest on the margin account (of $25k) until the funds are settled from the Amazon trade? I am not asking about a specific broker, I am researching different brokers and how they work at this point, so a general understanding of this principle is needed (not specifics of a broker or formulas). Thanks.
