[ Singles & Dating ] Open Question : My boyfriend’s mom has cancer, and he broke up with me...?

He said that it has nothing to do with me, it’s just that he’s going through way too much and that he can’t be in a relationship right now... he said that we can still be friends, but nothing more. He blocked me and cut off contact with me basically, but told me that he will let me know when he’s ready to talk again... I was with him for over 2 1/2 years... and i really love him. i’m heartbroken and scared now that i’ve lost him, but i also am trying my best to respect that he needs space, because of course family comes first... but it’s very difficult. i guess im just asking for some advice on how to distract my mind from him and move on...
