Nicki Hutley from Deloitte Access Economics has described Australia's market movements as a 'rollercoaster ride', attributing the volatility to the US-China trade war. Ms Hutley says the market reacted favourably to the Coalition's surprise election victory on May 18, but 'gave back a lot of those gains' because of global instability sparked by the US. The trade war between China and the US continues to 'drive the market' and be a source of market volatility, she says.
